Eastern Conference Predictions

In this blog post I would like to predict how I think the Eastern Conference will play out at the end of the year in terms of standings.  Obviously this standings may vary greatly due to injury or trades but this is how I currently see the East playing out at the moment.
1.  Heat
2.  Magic
3.  Bulls
4.  Celtics
5.  Hawks
6.  Bucks
7.  Knicks
8.  Charlotte
9.  Nets
10.  76ers
11.  Wizards
12.  Pacers
13.  Cleveland
14.  Toronto
15.  Detroit

The first 5 picks shouldn’t be much of a surprise as most people will probably have that 5 as the 5 best teams in the East.  However, I do believe the Bucks will be fairly decent this year.  If you look at their roster they are fairly solid up and down.  Andrew Bogut is a legit big man and they an amazing PG in Brandon Jennings.  Newly acquired Corey Maggette should do a lot of the scoring along with shooters such as Carlos Delfino, Ersan Ilyasova, and Chris-Douglas Roberts, John Salmons.  With coach Scott Skiles you know they will be great defensively.

While I picked the Nets to finish last 9th I wouldn’t be surprised to see them jump into the 8th spot with the amount of talent that they have.  Don’t let last season fool you on believing the Nets are a bad team as they are loaded with talent and could very easily put together a nice run to get into the playoffs.  Brooke Lopez is a great post player along with Devin Harris, rookie Derrick Favors, Terrance Williams, and Anthony Morrow.  The big downfall with the Nets is that they aren’t very deep off the bench talent wise.

*****Be sure to look at my archived blogs where I previewed the top 4 teams in the East.
